COVID-19 Update

The  Maryland Department of Health (MDH) has now relaxed the pandemic restrictions such that we are allowing for in person appointments. Due to DEA and State of MD requirements regarding controlled substances, we would like to have a small percentage of patients have an in-person appointments. If this is not possible or you are not comfortable coming in the office, please let our staff know and we will make accommodations.

In order to ensure your safety, as well as the safety of our staff, please adhere to the following guidelines.
  • Maintain social distancing. Our waiting room and adjoining conference room allows for adequate social distancing while waiting for your appointment.. We kindly request that you avoid bringing family members or friends to your visit except when essential to your care.
  • (PPE). Our providers and staff will be using PPE. We also ask that you arrive for your appointment wearing a face mask and wear it for the duration of your visit.
  • Symptoms-- Please do not come to our office if you have any signs/symptoms of COVID (ie: cough, fever, shortness of breath). We have a touchless thermometer that can be used to screen patients.
  • Clean and sanitize regularly. We have hand sanitizer available throughout the office and request that you use it when you arrive, and additionally as often as needed.
COVID-19 UPDATE: TELEHEALTH ONLY, OFFICE CLOSED
Due to the CDC recommendations, we are physically closing our office from May 1st through May 31st.
We will reopen on June 1st.

Based on the recent guidance by Governor Hogan, we are asking all patients to attend their appointments via telehealth until instructed otherwise. Our admin staff has previously sent instructions on this modality.  We are taking the initiative to schedule virtual appointments and ask that you look out for an email with a zoom link from admin@ecpsyciatry.com. This will be required to attend a virtual visit. If your therapist is using a different telehealth modality, she will let you know prior to the scheduled visit. Our admin staff can answer any questions you may have about this process and facilitate making all appointments.  In the event you feel as though an in person appointment is necessary, the medication management providers (Dr Mattai and Kimberly Lim) can see you for a face to face visit. However, we would like to limit this as much as possible.

Our office remains open and can handle all requests for appointments/medication refills/etc.  We will have an administrative staff member on site everyday to assist with such issues--so please call the office if you need any assistance  Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we all navigate this issue.

Andy Mattai M.D.

COVID-19 Office Visit Updates for Innovative Psychiatry
(As of 3/16/2020)

- At this time, our office is continuing all mental health services.  Please do not come to your visits if you are sick, or have been exposed to someone who is sick, or if you are an older adult or someone with severe underlying medical conditions.

- You can still receive mental health services IF you or a loved one is sick.  All clinicians and Psychiatrists are using insurance reimbursable teletherapy services at this time, so you can convert any in person visit  to teletherapy by calling our office. We will help you become equipped with the free HIPAA Compliant video-conferencing APP named ZOOM and coordinate payment. Alternatively, phone appointments will be permitted for the next 2 weeks.  We ask that you leave a credit card on file for teletherapy services or for phone appointments

- If you are uncertain about possible exposure, we encourage you to schedule your visit as a ZOOM teletherapy appointment. This can be done by notifying us via email at admin@ecpsychiatry.com.

- We understand that schools and some businesses are closed for the next few weeks, but in order to promote social distancing  PLEASE do not bring extra family members/siblings to your appointments. If this is not avoidable, please contact us to convert your appointment to a teletherapy session.

- All clients scheduling teletherapy visits must provide a credit card on file and complete the appropriate consent form.

The following providers have converted solely to teletherapy appointments
- Lindsay Waxler
- Lauren Barris
- Elizabeth Dolan
- Gabriella Rosanova

All other providers will plan to be in office, but teletherapy sessions are available to all patients.
Spravato appointments are still scheduled as normal.
