Interned at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, Adult Psychiatric Unit, part of a dual diagnosis psychiatric inpatient unit with focus on addictions. Also conducted admissions on Drug Detox Unit, management of acute withdrawal, medication management. She worked in Baltimore City, provided under-served populations with psychiatry; specializing in dual diagnosis, addictions, and urgent care. Often times requiring management of untreated chronic medical conditions in need of more emergent care.
Prior to becoming a PA, she served in the United States Air Force. She was Director Resiliency/Organizational Change/Mental Health with over a decade of operational, cross-cultural, and leadership experience. Executive consultant to Air Force Surgeon General; support services. Co-authored educational module for the nation’s first military health command on alcohol brief counseling.
While deployed she was part of a joint military combat operational stress team as the sole Certified Addictions Counselor. She has worked in a multitude of settings to include: inpatient, outpatient, addictions intensive outpatient/partial day treatment, inner city, deployed, and training sites. Facilitated conflict resolution, stress management, dealing with difficult people, separation from family, Special Forces and combat stress.
