Elizabeth Homan Sandoval, MD, MPH is a ABPN Board Certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist and General Psychiatrist who had additional training in Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis and treatment, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Parent Child Interactive Therapy. She is very happy to join Dr. Mattai's clinic, after having known him since their shared training in a research laboratory in undergraduate years. She has been described as having a very thorough evaluation style, with a goal for excellent evidence based care.
Dr. Homan graduated from the University of lowa with degree in Microbiology, went on to medical school at the University of Illinois at Chicago, graduated with a MD and added a MPH from the University of lowa. She completed General Psychiatry Residency training at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital, which included the Miami VA as a hospital site. She then completed Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship at the University of lowa under the directorship of Dr. Peter Daniolos.
Dr. Homan has demonstrated commitment to the field of medicine and psychiatry and the advocacy for advancements by her national role in organized medicine through the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, American Psychiatry Association, National Hispanic Medical Association, Latino Medical Student Association, and the American Medical Association. She has been honored nationally as an APA SAHMSA Fellow, an AMA WEL 2.0 Fellow, AACAP Resident of the Year Awardee, Past National Director of LMSA. She is currently on the AACAP Collaborative and Integrated Care Committee.
She specializes in treating a range of conditions, including OCD, ADHD, anxiety, depression, Autism Spectrum Disorder. Through active participation with AACAP at national meetings, Dr. Homan stays up to date on evidence based treatments.
Dr. Homan is excited to welcome new patients to Innovative Psychiatry, LLC for excellent individualized, whole person, mental health care evaluations and treatment.
